Stout PGH NOGI Tournament Nov 14th

On November 14th Stout PGH will be hosting another Pittsburgh BJJ NOGI Tournament with men’s & women’s divisions, in three skill divisions. This is a great opportunity for white & blue belts to start competing in a relaxed environment without spending a lot of money or for anyone looking for a good “tune-up” tournament. With a double elimination format competitors can expect to get a minimum of two matches. This tournament once again, is open to any competitors, regardless of school or team affiliation!

We will use the IBJJF NOGI ruleset for beginners brackets (white belts and/or under 1 yr experience) & intermediate brackets (blue belts and/or 1-3 years experience). We will use IBJJF NOGI ruleset + heel hooks, leg reaping, twisters, neck cranks & compression submissions for Advanced Brackets (Purple belt & up and/or 3+ years experience). You can do the bracket that is appropriate to your belt level if you have more experience than listed on the brackets (i.e. 2 year white belt, 4 year blue belt, etc.) However, straight ankle locks are the only leg attack allowed at intermediate & no leglocks at beginners. If you would like to use these submissions you can move up in experience level.

Weight classes for men’s divisions will be 155 and below, 170-155, 190-170, 220-190, & Hwt

Women’s  weight classes & divisions will be made based upon sign ups.

AS THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE ARE HOSTING AN ADVANCED DIVISION AFTER MUCH DEMAND, IF WE DO NOT HAVE AT LEAST EIGHT (8) COMPETITORS IN THE ADVANCED DIVISION BY OCTOBER 18th WE WILL CANCEL THESE DIVISIONS.

SCHEDULE:

Weigh-Ins: 11 am -12 pm

Bracketing: 12 pm-1 pm

Rules Meeting: 1-1:30 pm

Tournament: 1:30 – 4:30 pm
