Fundamental Thai Boxing

Beginners start here. In our 45 minute classes you will learn stance, movement, basic strikes, and defense. We start out with a simple warmup usually incorporating skills or movements from Thai Boxing or boxing. The students work with a partner on boxing mitts, Thai pads, belly pads, and/or kick shields. There is no sparring and very low levels of contact in the fundamentals classes. Expect to get a moderate workout where you can push yourself and improve your fitness. The fundamental curriculum is seven weeks long and after completion you will be eligible for a pad test to start taking intermediate level classes. Gloves, shin guards, and wraps are the only equipment that is mandatory for the classes, although a cup is recommended.

Bag Class – These all level classes are 30 minutes and focus on power and conditioning using heavy bags. As with all classes you can push at your pace, but expect to get a vigorous workout. These classes are for anyone from beginners to advanced students who want to increase endurance, lose weight and/or work on striking power. Gloves and wraps are the only equipment that is mandatory for the classes.

Boxing – Boxing classes are for all levels and are about 45 minutes. They include pad work with a partner, and some higher intensity conditioning drills. Only punching and punch defense techniques are practiced. The stance, movement, and style of defense differs from that traditionally used in Thai Boxing. These classes are open to all levels, beginners through advanced.

Intermediate Thai Boxing

These 45-50 minute long classes introduce partner drills, different defensive techniques, more advanced combinations, open pad rounds, and some basic clinch work. There is also some introduction to fight tactics and strategy. Participants need gloves, wraps, and shin guards, although a cup and mouthpiece are recommended. They are open to intermediate level and up.

Clinch

This class is entirely focused on the grappling- striking interface that makes Thai Boxing a unique art. Classes are between 45 minutes and an hour long and include partner drills, clinch work on pads, and live clinching. Gloves are the only needed equipment, although a cup and mouth piece are highly recommended.

Advanced Boxing

In this hour long training session, participants can expect to practice partner drills and do some sparring. Necessary equipment includes gloves, wraps, mouthpiece, and cup. Headgear is optional. It is only open to advanced level and up.

Advanced Tech Sparring

This class is focused on advanced drills, ring control strategies, and technical sparring. It is open to advanced level students only, as well as those on our invite only MMA team. Some, but not all students, in these classes fight amateur and professionally. Mandatory gear includes gloves, shin guards, a mouth piece, and cup. Head gear, knee and elbow pads are optional. Classes are typically 1hour.
