A competitive swimmer through high school; Charlie decided to forego swimming at Lehigh University for financial reasons and instead chose to pursue a degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Tech. Charlie began competing in triathlon while in Blacksburg, but suffered a herniated disc his junior year that resulted in back surgery and triggered an obsession with strength training for performance and rehabilitation.

Charlie has experience working with clients of all types and ability levels. He interned with Virginia Tech’s strength and conditioning program while in school, working with various teams such as the swimmers, wrestlers, baseball and softball teams, men’s soccer, women’s lacrosse, and more. After graduation, Charlie spent 2+ years working stints as a physical therapy aide, a strength and conditioning coach at a private sports performance facility, and a personal trainer at a large health club in Reston, Virginia.

Currently, he is completing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) at the University of Pittsburgh, while teaching strength classes and training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Stout Training Pittsburgh.  In addition, Charlie also regularly publishes free content through various social media outlets.
